Hi, is she def yellow? also are the whites of her eyes yellowish too. Excess carotene can cause orangey tint to skin but otherwise no issues and carotene v high in pureed foods & bought baby food, so quite common in babies.

That's interesting, about the carotene.

When some adults get very anaemic they get a yellowish, sort of tinge, but they are also very tired and generally unwell. Maybe thats what the GP meant.

lolalushmartini · 05/11/2010 22:17

the whites of her eyes are clear.
she has a yellow tinge to her skin but is pale the only reason it is bugging me was because he wants a second opinion if he is not worried then why ask for a second opinion on her blood tests

to put your mind at rest it might be better if he refers her to a paediatrician because then you can discuss directly with paediatrician. Don't know about you, but that is what I would prefer rather than having GP in between ...

yeah think that is what i am going to do.
poor wee mite she has not had a good start in life just hope this is nothing and can be ruled out as just the baby food
