um is he going to hospital - he should really be on oxygen at that percentage, how do you know its at 78?
My son has been taken by ambulance before on oxygen with his levels at 65% which is tachicardic - spelling!
The dont let him out until he can maintain over 95% - so not wising to be scary but I think an ambulance is needed as they can bring you oxygen - hope hes ok

Hi it was last night that is was low its now in the 90's. By the way he did seea dr and they did nothing about it if it happens again i will take him to A+E.We have a o2 finger monitor for him as he keeeps going blue having a real battle to sort it out.So anything below 90 needs to be seen then?

cedmonds Sorry to see this.

78% is REALLY low. When dd has been in hospital with asthma they put her on oxygen if she goes below mid-90's! And like wioodhen says she isn't realeased until she can reliably maintain high 90's.

If I was you I would be kicking up a real fuss now. Your ds is not getting the treatment he needs.

I'm in Ireland, not UK so not sure of the system there but you really need to get a paed referral or see a different GP.

If he is going blue he is really struggling.

Hope is is better. Keep us updated.

When my DS's have been in hospital, anything below 92% is bad, and they've been on oxygen.

78% would really worry me.

I hope he's managing to stay in the 90's.

agree with others. 78 is very very low. Anything below 95 is often cause for concern, 98 is okay. And definitely if blue call ambulance, I would not wait in such a situation if it improves but just go.
