Verrucas - I have found the miracle cure!

Maybe everybody knows this already, but its been a bloody revelation to me and DS.

Well, after about 2 months of trying to freeze em off, file em off, bazukka-ing em off etc, I found this solution online - DUCK TAPE. Yep, just plain old tape from the hardware shop. Put big strips on his feet, covering the veruccas, for 2 nights. Tonight, night 3, his feels feet itchy so he pulls tape off, pulling all 5 veruccas with them, painlessly and cleanly - GONE!

Just wanted to pass it on Smile

Ahem Duct Tape I presume

WhatsWrongWithYou · 04/11/2010 21:32

Really? Duct tape? That sounds amazing and strangely satisfying.

FlamingMagnaFlow · 04/11/2010 21:33

Brilliant thanks for that will try it on my one tomorrow - my ones being a right B to get rid of Smile

BibiThree · 04/11/2010 21:34

The brand is DUCK tape
but thanks, will try on dd tomorrow
Do you take it off in the morning and reapply the following night?

mylifewithstrangers · 04/11/2010 21:36

I never knew that Bibi, my apologies bobbysgirl Blush

I shall hang my head in shame and go and post on the 'things you never knew' thread Grin

QueenFizzBangPoppingEverything · 04/11/2010 21:37

I really wanted to try this but my verrucas are right on the base of my toe, where it meets my foot, and duct tape doesn't stay on.

I wonder. Is it the oxygen deprivation that does the job, and if so would a few coats of nail polish do the same job?

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 04/11/2010 21:38

Sounds good!

Do I put it on ds when he goes to bed, remove in the morning and reapply the next night?

cyb · 04/11/2010 21:40

Yes duct tape a well known cure

stillbobbysgirl · 04/11/2010 21:44

I do know that its DUCT tape, but the BRAND NAME is DUCK tape! Smile

So it is a well known cure that half the world knew about except me then!?

I think it is the oxygen deprevation yes, maybe nail polish or any other kind of paint would do the job queen fizz.

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 04/11/2010 21:52

Marvellous - tape will be out of the garage tomorrow night then!

(If this is a well known cure, I was oblivious to it too!!)

i could never get the tape to stay on dd's foot. sweaty feet used to ruin the sticky.

Bobbiesmum · 04/11/2010 21:59

Clear nail varnish or the flesh from the inside of a bannana skin (apparently contains enzymes that break down the verucca). Both supposedly effective

ThighsBurntOnABigRocket · 04/11/2010 21:59

Worked a treat for DS.

Once passed the tip onto a women in the chemist who was just about to buy a load of treatment for her sons. The sales assistant gave me a look as if to say "shut up, she was just about to spend a fortune"!!
