what do i do??? this is the first time he has complained of an itchy bottom im mortified! Could the symptoms all be linked???

No, surely not as threadworms don't make you ill. Are you sure it is worms - have you seen them? Itchy bottom could just be soreness due to passing hard stools, and this would be due to constipation which can cause nasty tummy ache.

If you have seen them, you can buy threadworm treatment over the counter or get it free on prescription from your GP. It's common and most families will be affected by them - nothing to be mortified about.
