Foul-smelling gas/flatulence - serious question

My 3 yr old has been having foul smelling (probably sulfurous) gas for at least 6 weeks.

He has had no change in diet. He says his belly does not hurt and seems to eat as always (besides "normal" the toddler behavior...).

I thought it might be some gastro-intestinal
bug, but would this last this long??

Just to be clear - this smell is WAYYY beyond the normal. I have to apologize to people if we are in closed rooms and they ALWAYS know what I am talking about.

Could it be first signs of some sort of food intolerance (he has never shown any signs of those and we don't have them in the family.)

Any suggestions or ideas? - I don't know what to do and when to go to the doctor.
