Any ideas what this could be? He pointed at his right eye when I asked him. I looked in both and couldn't see anything. I also tried that rinsing thing where you pour water down the bridge of their nose so it rinse out the eye (he liked it and asked me to do it again. weirdo). Anyway, that didn't seem to stop it. He has gone to bed now but I'm worrying that I've missed checking something! He was doing it for over an hour before bedtime. They went to the zoo today so am wondering..

TIA

He's probably got a cold coming on.

Don't worry about it - the eyes are generally self cleaning but when you get swelling of the mucous membranes inside the nose blinking frequency can be increased.

thanks WMMC. thought there may be a hair caught or something (have cut his fringe now). Seems better this morning.

Glad to hear he's feeling better. Keep an eye on him for a day or two. If he had scratched the lens of his eye with a hair, it won't have any long term damage but would generally be only on one side anyway. :)

thanks WMC. He is still doing it more than normal, but it seems to be a sort of tiredness tic or only affects him when he is tired! They keep us guessing these little ones..
