DD (aged 3) has been suffering from bad rectal bleeding (i.e 2 or 3 changes of pants a day due to being blood soaked) and also has a weird red fleshy protrusion out of her bottom after pooing which disappears after about half an hour. Having photographed that and shown to docs and from description of symptoms she is shortly being admitted for colonoscopy under GA with the expectation that they will be removing polyps (although until the cameras are in they don't really know what they are going to find as no one apart from me has ever see this and so diagnostic is description and photos only).

Obviously I have googled etc, but I have no real idea of what is going on. Does anyone have any experience of rectal polyps and what I should expect for poor DD?
