weeping sore on head in hair

My dd has suddenly developed a red sore patch (size of a 5p) on top of her head. It's raised up, a bit crusty and is a weeping a bit. It's obviously itchy too. It's not from a bash or bite, it looks more like excema (sp?).
Is this a type of psoriosis (sp again, tired tonight)? What may have caused it?

impetigo? google it and see if it fits

Could it be ringworm?

Do you have cats?

kissingfrogs · 25/09/2010 21:47

yes we have a cat and dog and horses. What could she have caught of a cat? Allergy to cat flea bite?
No, not ringworm - I know what that looks like, seen it on people and horses.
Good news is that the patch seems to be drying up - think sudocrem helped. If it gets worse or there are more patches I'll see GP.
Will google impetigo (scary!)

Ringworm can be transmitted carried by animals, especially cats and horses!
