Cradle cap - help!

Maria101 · 24/09/2010 08:59

My 3 month-old-daughter has cradle cap, and I've tried everything to get rid of it (olive oil, combing etc). I tried the shampoo Detinox last night, and her scalp was drier than ever this morning! Is this normal? I'm getting her Christened on Sunday, so I'm hoping it will clear up by then (hopeful/deluded, I know!)

i had the same with my dd. i tried everything. some one on here told me to try vasaline. i worked a treat. only thing was my dd had greasy hair for ages after as she had lots of hair and its really hard to wash out

the only thing that worked for both ds's cradle cap was vaseline. Have yoiu tried that?

I slathered it on repeatedly during the day, left it overnight and then washed it off in the morning. The dry skin gets really soft and peels away with your finger nails (yuck).....

dentinox works the opposite way to oil / vaseline - it's meant to dry it out so it flakes off rather than moisturise it so it peels off, iyswim.

I suggest some concerted picking

this stuff is brilliant, have used it on all 3 of my dc. needs a good few shampoos to get it out, but no need to leave it on overnight and get oil all over the bedding etc.
