Any doctors around? Staph infection not clearing

Hi

My DD (2.4) had a staph infection in the last week of August - looked a bit like chicken pox spots on legs and lower back/bottom. We were prescribed a cream and oral antibiotics and it looked like it was clearing up.

A week ago she had 2 very restless nights and was very itchy down below. She gave me the fright of my life from bleeding into her potty last Tuesday. I ttokk her back to GP and she said staph had come back and prescribed new cream and more antibiotics - this time erythroped.

When we got prescription the chemist siad she would need more than 1 week's worth and to get extra prescription from doc. i left them a message and they sent new prescription which I pick up tomorrow.

But when i put her to bed just now she was bright red all around nappy area and clearly sore and in pain.....

Do you think I should take her back again, or keep going with the second bottle of antibiotics?

Sorry.... written an essay...... just not sure what to do next

She was initially prescribed flucloxacillin but for love nor money could I get it into her so they switched it to erythro something - not the erythroped we are on now but something very similar sounding. She had that for the last week of august and has now nearly completed one week on the new stuff.

I did take her temp tonight only beacause I was taking her brother;s as he has cold. She was 37, so not a temp but a little higher than she normally is.

She could have developed thrush - can happen when you take ABs. I would get her seen again tomorrow. Poor wee thing Sad

Same as last night. Absolutely bright red all around bottom area, looking almost raw in places. No better or worse.

Still no temp as such, just a little raised - 37.6 - but she is possibly getting brother's cold.

Think I am just confused as to why its not clearing quicker and why we needs to have the ABs for 2 weeks. Oh, and forgot to say she has developed a new rash on tummy in last 3 days. Tiny dots that feel very rough to touch. Not sure if this is a side effect of medicine, linked to staph thing or just a random rash. It doesn't seem to be bothering her.
