bald patch due to hair pull: does it grow back

Hi there,
My boy ( nearly 3) got in a scrap with his cousin resulting in a big chunk of hair being pulled out and a bald patch on the back of his head. its been over a month ago and I can't see any stubbles or re growth and am starting to get worried this is a permanent thing. What is your experience?

I should think it will grow back. My DS1 once walloped DS2 on the head with the hoover head which was in it's carpet beating mode so whizzing round little brushes. When DS2 started screaming the place down DS1 panicked and PULLED.

The bald patch was about the size of an egg. All grown back now. I seem to remember it did take quite a while though.
