I've noticed over the last few days that my son is needing to wee a lot. As an example, we were at the pool yesterday and he needed to use the loo. I took him out of his swimming lesson and he had a wee.

Half an hour later, he needed another wee and went off and used the loo. I was with his younger brother so didn't see if he had one or not, but I am assuming that he did.

He had a hot chocolate after swimming and then needed another wee (maybe half an hour later) before we left for home. He had another when we reached home.

We at home this morning and he has been quite a few times. I haven't noticed that he is drinking more than usual; he isn't complaining of a terrible thirst so I'm not too worried about diabetes, but it is a niggling worry.

He isn't tired, and is a ball of energy and needs a lot of exercise. He sleeps from around 8pm until 6.30am or so, and doesn't nap during the day at the moment, although he does occasionally. Weight-wise he is very skinny.

Any thoughts?

Hi,

You may want to hand a sample into your GP and get them to test it. He may have a wee urine infection.

Often in young children they don't always get a fever when they have a UTI so best to get it checked.

other thing which is known to cause frequent urination is constipation. The build up of poo inside presses on the bladder giving a signal to the child that he needs to wee.

Good luck
