Itchy eye and head

[Beavermum]

DS 6 has an intermittently itchy scalp and eyes. One being a bit red. He talks about his eye rash.

Have examined for nits but cant see a thing. Could be allergy but we haven't changed any products etc and its a bit late for hay fever type things plus rain shoudl have reduced

Any other ideas?

the crab louse can get into hair and eyebrows and eyelashes. if they are big,you can see them?

has he got gunge in his eye?

No gunge and cant see anything living or dead

you can get something called seborrhoeic eczema of the eye and scalp which can cause blepharitis of the eyelid

hmmmmmmmm could be does he need to see GP? He does get eczema occassionally

Optician likely to be better with the diagnosis (well at least of the eye stuff).

gp might prescribe ketoconazole shampo if there is an itchy element or you could even try oilatum shampoo and use it diluted on the eye lid. My mum had a similar thing and her consultant advised using johnsons baby shampoo diluted 1 in 4 on the eye lid but hers wasnt that itchy. see doc he may advise something like Simple eye ointment.is it his eye ball or eyelid that is sore?
