Hi my DS is 3.4 and has chicken pox at the moment. He is complaining that his mouth is ouchy and has got blisters on his tongue. Not sure if it's to do with CP or if it's just ulcers? anyone else experience this?

Yes, I had it everywhere "inside" (problems for going to the toilets) and outside. DD1 too. Be careful if it get in the eyes you have to see a specialist as it can lead to problems if untreated.

in the throat too, offer him mushy liquidy food, ice cream milk shake are a good star Wink, cold rather than hot.

ooh thank mamaloco - he has 3 small blisters on his lower lash line - should I get that checked? Not sure if that counts as in his eye or not?
He was born with a blocked tear duct that took 2 ops and tubing to correct, so I try toavoid any infection in his left eye but noticed a bit of yellow sleep there this morning

Sorry to get back so late, the eye lashes are OK. it is inside the eye which is a problem, looks like a very bad swollen eye infection (without the seeping), so unfortunately you will know what to look for.
Hope he is getting better now.
DD1 was 3 and it took her a month to get over and almost 6 months to be back to normal, but she had a very bad case.
lot of rest is the best. (I was 25 and it took me a month too, but that is more normal in adults).
Don't listen to people who will tell you they are better after 7 days, if your DS doesn't feel right after that time let him recuperate at his own rate. And if you have any doubt take him back to the GP.
But for most it is done in 7/10 days.

My DS1 had them all through his intestines from moth to willy and bum. His willy swelled to twice the size and he was in agony. It is also very sore for little girls too.
