Nasal congestion: sinusitis, hayfever or cold

Hi, for about past few months my daughter has been sneezing on and off. For past two weeks she has sounded as though top of nose is blocked and she sounds nasally when she talks.

She is well in herself, no temp, cough, runny nose or anything else, just this nasal congestion.

I got hayfever when I was 16 years old. I will take her to docs if it goes on for another week or so. It is not bothering her at all.

Could well be hayfever. Different pollens come out at different times of year - I have been on antihistamines since about March.

Do you have a cat or dog?

yeah 3 cats and a dog but have had cats since she was born and dog for 2 years

Could be some other allergy. I thought I had hayfever for years until I finally gave in and was referred by GP to the allergy clinic. My 'season' was February through November and getting longer every year.

Turns out didn't have hayfever, but allergy to dust mites and other various allergies were giving my chronic rhinitis. Am now on anti-allergy, anti-histamine, and nasal spray and feel completely human all year round, it's lovely Grin

So yes, that's my long winded way of saying visit to GP definitely in order.

will give it a week in case it is a cold and then go to GP.

Thanks for replies...
