Depends on how stinky the child is.

It seems young to me, but levels of, and perceptions of, body odour vary so much. Can't see any reason why not, though you might want to look for an aluminium-free one.

for some yes - my ds2 can be a bit stinky and is getting spotty. I haven't bothered with the pits as ds1 smells enough for both of them at the moment but frequently exfoliate his nose - poor lad Grin

dd1 has needed deodorant (she uses the 'natural' sort, 'Tom's of Maine' - works well for her) on and off since she was 4.5. I was very worried about premature puberty, but nothing has happened since - she's nearly 7. Just tends to get sweatier than others.
