Head lice question

Sounds like a very stupid simple question but when you are preparing to go looking through your DCs hair for lice, do you wash (ie. shampoo) their hair first, then apply conditioner and then comb through with a Nitty Gritty comb, OR just apply a dollop of conditioner to dry hair, then comb and then wash it thoroughly afterwards...?

DD is 10 and has never had nits before. Came home from Guide camp last Thursday and now has lice. Angry So tonight - having sorted her yesterday and this morning with Hedrin and combing - I am starting on two DSs, DH and me...deep deep joy...Angry Angry Angry

Any advice would be gratefully received. TIA.

I wet DD's hair, put a load of conditioner on, comb and then wash/condition.

Get a Nitty Gritty comb - they are the bee's knees and an added bonus is you won't need to fork out on any Hedrin or anything.

Recomb DD every three days for two/three weeks to make sure you get all the little blighters.
