hi my 10 month old is under a paedatrician- he had bad bronchiolitis at 9 weeks and from then on had breathing problems-being treated as athmatic-brown inhaler and white. however when he was 9 weeks old they took bloods and found he was anaemic- they lost these results and in march i received a perscription and a letter saying sorry he was anaemic in decemeber-take this iron!!
i changed hospitals and paedatricians!!
he had bloods taken in july his platelets were very high and his iron count low- a repeat test at end of july platelets lowered slightly but iron count still poor so has more iron. he has to have 3 x 2.5 ml a day for 3 months.
i am worried.
he is breastfed, eats his food well too enjoys green veg, meats etc.
he has not been ill with his chest since 2nd june-wow!
but why is he still anaemic??
he is on 75th centile height and weight.
