Hi there, Does anyone have any experience of undescended testes. My 10 mth old just had his check and we've been referred to pediatric urologist as she couldn't find his testes. No info given, just that he might need an op which I'm very scared about. Any similar experiences?

Hi, my DS is 17 months and has one undescended testical. We've seen the consultant, DS had an ultrasound to locate the missing one and now he's having an operation next month to pull the missing testical down and stitch it into place. I'm terrified about the op but I know it has to be done.

Have you ever felt his testes? We were told to 'have a feel' every night in a warm bath as they were more likely to be found when he was warm and relaxed rather than in a dr's surgery.

yes my first son had this and had the operation at 13 months old- i worried so much but he was up amd running about after 15 mins of coming out of theatre!one testes was still in his stomach? the other kept moving- both have been lowered into the sac but one is smaller and under developed. he is perfectly well- worst part was the anticipation then the waiting during the operation-we also had a 2 hour journey home and i hated the ideas of the car seat squashing his winky area
