Toddler spitting out oral antiobiotics, what to do...?

Ds (16mo) has been prescribed oral antibiotics 5ml, 4 times a day and so far he has spat out pretty much the full amount of the two doses I have tried to give him, he's maybe swallowed 0.5ml if I'm lucky.

So any tips??

Can I mix them with milk? Or can you recommend something else to take the taste away?

Any ideas welcome, it's the first time I've had to give him them and he hates it!

(he's normally fine with calpol in a syringe/spoon so it's not the syringe/spoon that is the problem)

Thanks in advance

Syringe it into the back of his mouth to the side near the gums (outside) this will prevent any spittage. This has worked with all DCs from a young age and was the only way I could get them to take meds sometimes!

Good Luck!

Thanks invisibleink, I'll try that for his bedtime dose!
