what is normal

Hi sound a bit thick here but ds (4 last week) often has urine problems. We were away at weekend and he did nothing but wee at least every 20 minutes. I know he was drinking often but seems excessive. He is concerned that at the end of his penis is a small ball of what looks like blood is this normal? I have very limited knowledge of what it should look like and not exactly the sort of thing I can drop into conversation with male friends. Any help gratefully received.

erm no, that doesn't sound normal. i would go and see the GP if I were you

thank you I honestly have not got a clue last time I took him gp said he should pull foreskin back often and so should I but ds said it hurt and i did not want to do this. I am of the opinion he will do this when he is ready but there are so many mixed messages about this

Hi. I think the weeing sounds excessive and I think you ought to pop to the doctor. Get your son to do a urine sample to take with you as the GP will probably want to dip it to see if there is an infection.
The best advice my health visitor gave about foreskin was to encourage him to pull it back in the bath to wash it.

To be honest just have a chat with your GP about it when you take him in. It will put your mind at rest that everything is ok. Good luck

def agree that you need to see a GP. frequent urinating could indicate an infection
my 5 yr old doesn't retract his foreskin, tho it DOES retract- he just doesn't want to do it, and nor do I and he is just fine. I agree that it's something he can do when he is ready and able and it shouldn't be a cause for concern that he doesn't.
if it hurts it could maybe be a bit tight? but then i think it loosens with age iirc, so again not necessarily a problem

i'd be mainly concerned about the blood-like ball. is it always there? under the skin?
