DD starts school in a few weeks, any ideas for what to put in her lunch box for morning snack. She will get her dinner when she gets home at two ..... She is not the best for eating breakfast, sometime boiled egg but most just a piece of toast, juice and spoon of cod liver oil, so filling her up before school might be a problem ...

You feed your child cod liver oil? (bleugh)

fruit is normally a winner.

I give my dd pasta in a thermos funtainer here

I usually make things at the weekend for lunches. Cakes, biscuits, nigella's cheese stars, flapjacks and things like that.

Yes she takes codliver oil in the morning with her dad with orange juice. Pasta is a good one will have a look for the thermos funtainer.

Tub of hummus, strips of pita or veggie batons? Sandwiches on brown bread? Cheese cubes (from ordinary block, not prepackaged)? Rice cakes? Geobars, or other health bars - but check label to see what's actually in them? Rice salad? Lots of fruit? Yoghurt if there's cool(ish) storage?

a banana and a frube. An apple (or a fruit bag which comes ready chopped). A small bag of grapes.

flapjacks? the oats should fill her up til lunch.

Ditto bags of dried fruit, or humzinger bars (which are mushed up dried fruit)

home made scones or "healthy" muffins - ie those with fruit and wholemeal flour

Carrot cake?
