My dd was given it just for real mild eczema on her mouth. Decided against using it after reading about it on the internet. Was a bit worried about it really and didn't feel in our circumstance it was necessary. The mention of avoiding direct sunlight, risk of burning sensations and about small number of people that used it developing cancer worried me. Not to mention you can't have alchol, dd being a child was not a concern in that way but a cream making a differance to drinking seems like a powerful treatment. I was concerned and happy to stay on our usual treatments instead.

My son had severe facial ezcema and everything else failed we tried elidel.

We were very concerned given the literature and used it very sparingly. He had no side effects and it was amazingly effective.

We did stop using it as soon as possible and were very heavy on high factor suncreams for a couple of years afterwards given the possible skin cancer suggestions.

The ezcema has never returned on his face, and bearing in mind it was so thickened before that he couldn't scrunch up his eyes properly we have been very grateful for that.

In short then, we are glad we did use it, but you need to do so with care.
