I have had a thead going as my baby who is now 6 month has had episodes of her limbs turning black and swelling. She is waiting to see a professor regarding this. One of her blood tests has come back abnormal and the consultant thinks she has thrombophillia (however this doesnt normally make limbs change colour so this is something extra )

Has anyone got any experience of this?

Oh my goodness, I was on your previous thread. Do you feel like the consultant is taking your concerns seriously now.

Big hugs x

I'm so glad that you're getting somewhere although obviously it's worrying at the same time.

At least you know what it is now, IIRC, it's a problem with the size of the blood cells. Is she being seen by a haematologist.

mummytopebs · 10/08/2010 20:53

It hasent been arranged for us to see a haemotologist yet just some professor at Newcastle, but they didnt have this blood result back when that was arranged.

Thats the annoying thing though I still dont know what the black limbs and swelling is as the report from this blood test says that thrombophillia doesnt cause those symtpoms, so they think that is something else :(

It's a start. It sounds like severe reynauds, have they done a doppler ultrasound to look at the blood flow?

mummytopebs · 10/08/2010 21:59

Not a doppler ultrasound as of yet. But Hyper reynauds was mentioned and also said they will prob put her on medication to relax her blood vessels

Ask them if they are planning on doing it, it's the same thing you had when you were pregnant, no radiation, it just looks at the blood flow. It must be really distressing for you.
