Pain relief from ulcers

My poor dd has ulcers on her tongue from some unnamed (but not hand foot mouth) virus. She's sleeping now, but every half hour she starts screaming with pain. It's awful and there seems to be nothing I can do. She's had liquid Ibuprofen before going to bed but I see another long night ahead. Does anyone have any suggestions to help comfort her?

You can give calpol and brufen together for stronger pain relief.
