chicken pox and lady bits.....

DD (2.5,) not me I hasten to add. Got chicken pox yesterday and has acquired maybe 4 proper headed spots in a sensitive area (ouch, crosses legs). As she's still in nappies I'm having to clean there obviously and I've been using the normal baby wipes but is this OK? She doesn't seem to find it painful but are they at more risk of being infected or should I be leaving them more alone?
And while I'm on the subject, how long is it before any given spots starts to scab over?

All of DD's spots were in her eyes or on her bits.
I didn't worry about them, they subsided after a few days. She was too little (3 months) to comment much. I suppose we were using cotton wool.
Come to think of it, 4yo DS complained most about the spots on his boy bits, too, they were the only ones that truly annoyed him!

I guess most scab over within 36 hours, but you may find new ones appearing for 4-5 days (although just 2-3 days of new spots is typical) so can be a week or so for all of them to finish appearing and scab over.

Ime the spots start scabbing withint about 24 hours of them blistering, but it is kind of a rolling process since more will keep appearing for 5 days or so.

I think normal wipes should be ok (you need to keep her clean obviously), but lots of nappy-free time is a good idea.

As someone who chicken pox at 15 with lots of spots on lady bits can i suggest plain warm water and dab rather than wipe.

Thank you all for your help, all her spots look so inflamed I am staggered at her still finding the enthusiasm to stagedive off the sofa onto a pile of cushions lovingly prepared by her brother.
