Green vomit in 4 day old

Help, my 4 day old was ck an hour or so ago and it was a green slightly thicker version of milk coming up, she has since fed and is now sleeping. Hubby saw it and said she sneezed about 7 times prior to the green vomit, is this common?

i don't know what could have caused this sorry but I just wanted to check that your daughter has been pooing properly since she was born

Could it be bile? I have no idea what could cause it but remember when I was little and very anxious about something vomiting bile and it was rather greenish. I was older than 4 days though.

not read it all (yet) but it might answer your question

ArseHolio · 28/07/2010 12:10

There was a program on the Tv the other day which said that green vomit in a newborn is somthing which needs medical attention immediatly.

It can be q sign of a twisted or blocked gut.

Ring your drs surgery and ask to speak to a gp.

As arsehelio has said - try and keep a sample, bile tends to be dark green as opposed to light green in adults and assume it may be in babaies as well but this has the potential to be serious so phone GP.

How's your baby now Taten ?

beesonmummyshead · 28/07/2010 18:44

my dd was seriously ill with suspected twisted gut (thankfully it turned out not to be) but the hospital staff told me to ring the emergency alarm if she vomited green, because that is the classic sign and they'd arrange for her immediate transfer to another hospital (our didnt have the facilities to observe/operate if necessary)

It could be a symptom of other things too, but I really thnk you ought to phone your GP, at the very least.

I hope she is ok.
