Calcium supplement for baby?

The pead. came to see DD2 (25 weeks) for another matter. She was supprised that she grew so much and said she is now the size of a 1 yo.
She advised me to give her calcium supplement because she grew and is still growing, so fast, there is probably not enough in her diet. (FF and little fruits and veg)
Has anybody ever heard of that?

surely she will get calcium from her milk. I have never heard of calcium supplements for babies. What weight/height is she?

mamaloco · 20/07/2010 15:43

she is about 71 cm and almost 10 kg.

do you mean she weighs the same as a 1 yr old ?

She's not far off my DD who at 4 is 13.2kg...
do you feed her the correct amount ?

She is about 22lbs. My ds was around the same weight at that age and I was never advised to supplement him with anything. When she reaches 6 months you can introduce yoghurt, cheese, etc and that will also add calcium to her diet.
