wart/verruca virus and babies

I've just noticed to my absolute horror I have what seems to be a small verrucca on the sole of my foot.

I'm extremely worried because I shower every morning in the same bath where I bath my baby every night.

Please tell me I won't have passed on the infection to him. He does get little hang nails and is also prone to nappy rash - would this be considered 'broken skin' which could be infected easily?

I feel sick at the thought he's been sitting in bath water on the same area where I've been standing to shower a few hours earlier.

Please reassure me or tell me if there's something I can do. I've been googling all morning but can't find anything that is specific to this situation, I called my health visitor and she said there's nothing I can do and worrying won't help, I'm also waiting for a call back from NHS direct but I'm not expecting them to be much use.

Is there anything I could do? My health visitor did say that because he is exclusively breastfed he will have protection, but I'm not sure I believe that with this kind of skin virus.

Please help!

I have no medical knowledge at all but I had verrucas for years and never passed them on to my DDs or my DH despite us all using the same bath.

I tried all sorts of treatments to get rid of them (my GP really didn't care about them at all) but in the end they miraculously disappeared on their own.

I wouldn't worry if I were you but I'm sure someone on here will be able to give you proper reassurance.

FWIW I believe it's very common to get them when you're pregnant (because you're immune system is compromised) so I suspect you'll find lots of new mums on here have had this concern.

I have a verucca - its been there for years and I've tried every treatment I can find (its currently being smothered by duct tape). Neither DS or DP have caught it.
