DS (3) has had diarrhoea since weds now (although when he was with mum on tues she did say it very soft and lots of it).

On weds morn he had a hot head so I gave him calpol and he went to nursery. Nursery called at lunchtime to say he was unwell and pooh soft and lots of it. He's had diarrhoea since but no temp. Very well in himself and eating and drinking fine (just a little less food perhaps).

The only thing I think it could be is I've noticed this week that one of his grommets is coming out-I can see it in his ear-could that be the cause? Similar to how they can get diarrhoea with teething? Think I will take him to drs tomorrow anyway but just wondered if any others had experienced this? Also do I need to anything else apart from keep his fluids up?

TIA

when my daughter had it the gp gave us some rehrdration drink sachets to use to aid with hydration, available over the counter,
main thing is hydration, check passing urine ok should pass within a week
its great he is eating and drinking as it puts some of them off!

Hi thanks lilyrose. I do have some rehydration sachets but I am certain DS will hate the taste and not drink them! I am also not as concerned as I would be if he wasn't also drinking/eating well.

urine is passing well so that sounds good

thanks for advice, perhaps I will give it a couple more days to see if it does pass within a week, given everything else is OK
