Antiseptic for spots on 6 m.o.?

My 6 month old DS has some nasty looking spots on his neck under his chin. I thought it was heat rash, but they have become bigger.

I took him to the HV who said it was probably a viral thing and that I should put Sudocrem on as an antiseptic.

I have to admit that experience leads me to doubt the HV's advice and I don't particularly like Sudocrem. Can anyone recommend something antiseptic which I might use instead - preferably something 'natural' rather than something made from petrochemicals?

TIA.

I'd take him to the GP to get a proper diagnosis. I would not self treat something I didnt know.

Yes, I think I will - I don't entirely trust the HV to have got it right and I don't know enough about antiseptics to know what a decent alternative to Sudocrem might be.

Thanks!
