Hope it goes well tommoro
Seems it s a very quick op to do as my son broke his leg a few weeks ago and stayed in the night, a few children came in. in that time and we watched them go down to have it done and they were back in about an hour full of it.
Your daughter will be fine the childrenswards are lovely and they give them things to play with to take their mind off it.

Soon be over

My dd had this done 3 weeks ago - she is just 7. It was fine, the hospital staff were great and the op was v quick. dd wasn't too impressed when she first came round but she soon perked up, and within half an hour was playing with the girl across the ward! We went home the same day. Is your dd just having grommets? dd had her adenoids out as well.

bring fave teddy along to theatre

have a surprise reward/small gift for afterwards

pack several small toys/puzzle books/magazines...for the waiting about beforehand, too take her mind off it

We had a long long wait and DS was the last patient of the day in ENT, as a result of fasting all day he was sick as soon as he had a few mouthfuls of toast later. Staff said this was quite common with the last 2 or 3 patients.

On the plus side, we didn't have to stay overnight and he was released very shortly later. He was bouncing about as normal and over the moon with his new hearing!

Sorry, forgot about any tips I took a magazine for me and a few small toys for dd. There was a tv by each bed which she liked, and it was free on the childrens ward dh came too, but forgot to take anything. Ended up buying him a puzzle book from the hospital shop! Good luck for tomorrow

good luck for your Ds Simpson, this time next week you'll realise how much you've all got used to shouting and listening to the TV at full blast!
