hi. well it started last week when ds had been fed too many cherries, grapes and an orange and ended up having loose stools till it was all out his system - about 2days. i thought things were back to normal but have noticed that he is gradually been soiling his nappy more and more - i think 5times today...it smells like diarrhoea but its not loose anymore, but its not its usual formed type - but hes going so often hes developed a nasty nappy rash even though i change him immediatly - hes even going in the ealry hours of the morning - around 4 or 5am and tis disturbing his sleep - seems to be crying most of the night - i dont know if its for this reason or another. his appetite has increased in the past week but i have kept him off any fruit that isnt a banana til things settle......hes otherwise fine - i dont know what to do.not really something i can go to the doctor about - baby pooing more than usual...any idea what is causing this and what i can do to help him??

How old is he? My ds poos a lot more when he's teething, could that be a possibility?

I'd second teething as a likely culprit. Is he dribbling or chewing alot? We've also stopped giving DS2 acidy foods like tomatoes and all spices even mild ones as they set him off too

he's one - could be teething - he usually also drools alot with teething but isnt doing now - maybe its all going into his poos....hmm and he has been waking up in the night crying alot.. i wonder if thats it...

Sorry OP no advice but going through the same with my daughter almost 9 months old. Everything she eats and drinks causes a bowel movement. I visited my GP and she said that teething was a possible cause. I thought that it could have been caused because we recently changed from first milk to follow on milk. Its a vicious circle because the soiled nappies are causing the nappy rash to get worse. She has changed from sleeping through the night to a baby who wakes about 3 times. I hope that things improve for you soon.

unfortunately the loose stols ar still persisting and have gotten even more watery. the rash thankfully isnt as bad but its difficult trying to control that aswell...and now to make things worse hes got chicken pox, is refusing to eat or drink and if he does it just come out the other end! help!
