dd (3.9) and ds (9m) horrible tummy bug for over a week, getting worried

DD has always been a bit "loose" (sorry if tmi) but has now had horrible yellow, slushy grany diarrhea accompanied by stomach ache for over a week now all through our holiday to France. She's had a few accidents with it too bless her which have really upset her. She's going 4+ times in one day but us still eating drinking and hasn't been sick.

Ds nappies the same, huge amounts of grany yellow mucous stuff, drinking his milk (aptamil) and plenty of water but very little solids. he's lost weight and his lovely chubby thighs have slimmed down . both fairly cheerful and active though.

Am keeping them both on starch/protein diet with ni fruit until resolved but it's been going on for ages now. Went to gp yesterday with ds and stool sample has gone off, he's also been sick a couple of times.

any ideas/advice?

My dd had this all last week. Dh got it at the weekend and I started yesterday.

Not fun at all, but GP assures me it's just a virus that takes its time to get through their bodies.

Dd ended up on a bread-only diet at the end.

So no real advice I'm afraid but hope they feel better soon.

Thankyou squeaver, I'm sticking to a white carb and water and milk only diet with ds today, I think my main concern is it's been going on so long.
