What to feed sick 2 year old?

Ds 2.8 has a stomach bug. He was hot yesterday evening and was sick 3 times. Couldn't keep down his milk or water or juice. He went to bed hit and managed to sleep all night without being sick, probably cause his stomach was empty as we stopped giving him water after he threw it up.

I have been giving him about an oz of water every 15 mins this morning to keep him hydrated without him being sick and it seems to have worked so far. He's had a few maltesers as ge spotted the bag and I felt bad not giving him one when he was I'll and fancied it. I don't want to overload him with food in case he's just sick again.

He's had 5oz if milk at 10.15 and kept it down so far. I offered him some chopped apple but he hasn't eaten it so I'm stewing it to see if he will fancy that. He's not quite as hot now and seems a bit happier.

Any ideas what to feed him that won't unsettle his tummy? He hasn't been sick for 12 hours now...

I wouldn't give him apple tbh as it's acidic and might make his tummy worse. I would give him very bland foods:

Toast/plain pasta/rich-t biscuits, keep milk and dairy to a minimum as that can curdle in the stomach. Obv if milk is part of his daily intake then see how that goes but I wouldn't add cheese/yoghurt etc until he's not been sick for 24 hours.

When we have tummy bugs, we usually start off with a slice of toast, and see how they go with that.

Ah thanks, got rice pudding, is that too milky though I wonder?

The advice is to give whatever they fancy now (within reason obviously) but to restrict dairy until they're better (it irritates a poorly gut).

There's actually no reason to keep it bland but if you choose to rice, chicken, toast etc used to be what people gave.

Ah thanks showofhands, he's just had a few spoons of stewed apple and a bit of banana then some cheesy puff crisps and a few dolly mixtures (that granny brought round). He's also had a little flat lemonade and it's all stayed down so far. He's just about back to normal temp too. Hopefully he's over the worst of it...
