DS (nearly 4 yrs) woke up with blotchy cheeks this morning. He has been a bit droopy all weekend, fell asleep yesterday after lunch which is unusual. He's complained of a funny head and a sore neck and has a temp of 38. Hasn't really eaten much all day but has had drinks and ice lollies.

He was dropping by 4.30pm so I gave him calpol and put him to bed. He's now asleep.

Any thoughts?

I think my daughter had this but i never realised what it was. I thought it was sunburn. She was "off" all weekend with this bright red blotchy face. I took her to a wedding with it and cringe now when i look at the photos because the blotchy is slightly moved round on each one which sunburn wouldnt. I also feel rotten because i thought she was being naughty throughout the wedding and looking back she was ill.

I have just put a picture of it on my profile if you want to have a look. (ignore husband`s weird face, he is getting a pip out of his tooth !)

Thanks OnEdge, that does look similar.
