special book for 7yr old boy?

I'm looking for a leaving present for a 7yr old boy at school. Perhaps a classic? Any recommendations very welcome. Thanks.

If you are looking for a classic, or an introduction to the classics, why not have a look at 'Usborne Illustrated Classics for Boys' (ISBN 978-1409500391. Really good, simple retellings of the classics, with colour illustrations in a nice looking gift edition.

This is a nice book which ds has really loved and read many times.
