Audio Books

3 year old DS insisted on listening to my Terry Pratchett audio CD in the car this weekend. Much as I don't think there is anything in there that is totally unsuitable for him - anything slightly offcolour is very oblique indeed.

But it made me think whether there were any longer books on audio CD that were good and suitable for a 4 year old with a good vocabulary.

Any ideas ?

We all love the Paddington stories, read by Stephen Fry.

Yup, Paddington great.

DS has enjoyed The Girl Who Married a Lion, a collection of animal stories. Maybe not so great for the car as it is MONUMENTALLY dull (to me) unless you can adjust your sound so that it is mostly the back seat who get them!

In a year or so, go straight to the Cressida Cowell/David Tennant audio CDs of Hiccup books. They are the BEST but I would say 4 is a touch too young.

I hadn't thought of Paddington - and that will be great.
I couldn't cope with anything dull, and as DS will want to talk about anything we are listening to, I'd have to pay attention
