Does anyone remember this?

I remember as a child (9 or 10 ish) watching a series about a little boy called Tolly, short for Toslund? I think, and he used to go into his huge garden at night and all the statues came alive. Cant remember much more than that, but wondering if it rings a bell with any other late 30's MNetters and if it was adapted from a book?

Here ya go

I spent ages looking for this online a few months ago as I had a dream where I remembered everything about it.

I remember a statue of St Christopher coming to life and carrying the boy across a river?

Weird

Oh and I'm still in my twenties!

mistressploppy · 16/04/2010 12:32

You can visit the house where it is set in cambridgeshire.

There is a whole series of the books!

Thankyou everyone, and Bunny, the bit about St. Christopher carrying him across the river sent a shiver down my spine then as I read it! Im going to but the whole set for my Girls (after I've read them, of course). You've made my day.

P.S mistressploppy - great name.

Nice to see it's being made into a film - hope they do it justice!

lovecheese · 16/04/2010 13:12

When is it likely to be out? How exciting.

Ah! I think it's only from the Chimneys of Greene Knowe. I wonder if they'll do a prequel?
