My DS is getting to the point where I think that I can try introduce a bedtime story again as part of his nightime routine.

It got dropped because reading to him seemed to disturb him more at bedtime than just putting him straight to his cot - and no I wasn't reading Steven King :-P

(I'd put it down to a "daddie, i can hear you, I wanna play, get me out of here")

Trying to specifically read to him at any other time of the day is almost impossible as he doesn't stop moving for more than 5 seconds at a go outside of food times!!!

My idea is to use my iPod Touch in night mode to read a short story or two (5 or 10 minute long stories). I have an eBook app which has various links to many many repositories.

However, there are so many books that it's pretty impossible to choose. So...

Does anyone have any suggestions of good compilations of 5, 10 minute stories that might be hidden in the depths of Project Gutenberg (and similar)?

Hi liamsdaddy

My dd loves her bedtime story, though I do think a big part of that is the book itself, so not sure how that'll translate with an iPod. She likes to look at the pictures and reaches out to grab the book (and invariably tries to chew the book!!) I think it's all part of the fun, so that may be why your ds gets distracted easily?

Anyway, we tend to go for classics like The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Mr Men books, the Usborne touchy feely books, pretty much anything by Julia Donaldson and she likes rhymes, so try The Goat that Gloats (we got ours in The Works recently).

Hope that helps x
