Help tracking down a book title..

About a year ago we got a book out from the library but can't remember its name, hoping that you lot can help DD1 still recites the rhyme even now - it was a bit hit in our house!!

It's about a girl who goes to buy new shoes and she goes to lots of different stores but can't find the right pair?

The book starts like this:

One shoe two shoes I need new shoes
Off I go to the new shoe store
I say to the lady, 'I need new shoes'
She says, 'what do you need them for'?

Anyone recognise this Please? Got it on your bookshelf??

We had this from the library and loved it too - I was trying to think what it was the other day, funnily enough, as I'm always reciting that first bit when I'm putting on ds2's shoes!

Fabulous book. It's one of dd's favourites.

Having some problems tracking it down tho' unfortunately - it seems to be out of print .

Jeanne Willis seems to have written quite a lot of books that sound great so will explore those I think whilst waiting for a copy of 'New Shoes' to turn up 2nd hand on Amazon. 'Mucky Mabel' sounds worth a read, we've got one of those in our house already!

There's another site that has out of print stuff on it... ABE books.

Thanks shockers, tried there and Bookfinder - I can get a copy from Canada but it's around £17 and I don't want it quite that much
