recommendations for book on new sibling for 5yo

Has anyone got any recommendations for books on introducing new baby to a 5 yo (will be nearly 6 by then).

I've tried waterstones and smiths but neither had any. I tried amazon but they mostly seem to aimed at toddlers and none have any reviews.

Anyone got any recommendations - ds doesn't know yet but hates the idea of siblings anyway. I'm having my first scan in a couple of weeks and wanted something for then (to hopefully show him with the scan pictures).

Already bought and read siblings without rivals which has given a few tips for me - but looking for book for ds.

what aspect are you wanting - where the baby came from without a focus on sex or something about how annoying babies are?

Did you hear back from your parents after they wanted to drop the presents off?

we have mummy laid an egg so alright on where baby came from. More on looking at helping him come to terms with the idea. The only one we have is horrid henry when peter is born - that is not a good idea and maybe where at least part of his resistance to siblings come from (Along the lines of 'Peter was a lovely baby, much better than Henry was - Henry's parents loved Peter much more than they did Henry).

We didn't hear back from my parents till later - an email saying they weren't coming but there was a bag of presents from them in porch so not sure what that was about. We avoided them so all good Thanks for asking.

Hmm only book I've got is the usborne "new baby sister" one which I think is aimed at toddlers. Can't recall finding one for my the 5.5 year old that dealt with sibling jealousy type stuff.

yeah most the ones I can find are for toddlers.

Did you find your 5yo didn't really need a book? Did he manage alright with explanations?

I bought her a book that explained the facts of life without sexual graphics which she seemed happy with. She was a very able reader at this point and has always been very articulate.

However she was keen on having a sibling and reality was a bit of a shock I think. She seemed to adapt okay though, she probably had a good whinge at her Dad (my ex) about it all though which would have been good and cathertic for her - my ex is a great Dad in that way.

I think I will probably see how it goes then and whether later on I feel he needs something.
