Is it suitable for children or not? An 11 year old?

I think I've heard that one of Meyer's books isn't suitable for children and dd2 has requested this one as she has read all the twilight ones.

I've read the Twilight books and also The Host and would say that The Host was intended for an adult audience. I also hated it, by the way.

AH. SO is it inappropriate for youngsters? Sex scenes or what?

No sex scenes spring to mind. Is your daughter into Science Fiction? Because this is about aliens taking over the Earth and living parasitically in humans' brains and using their bodies. I found this book quite disturbing and don't think it would be suitable for an 11 year old but then I don't know what kind of books 11 year olds are reading these days. Oh yes, there was also a bit of gore as a group of resistance try to remove the aliens from human bodies.

Thanks nolda. She's a bit of a wimp. She loves twilight and I think she thinks this is similar sort of stuff.

She does love LOTR. What you describe might be worse than orcs though.
