DS2 (8) has been devouring these at a fast rate - he loves them.

Can anyone find me a list of the order they are meant to be read in please?? I'm bored with googling and it seems that on Amazon you have to read the description and hope it mentions where in the series that book falls.

I think all series should have a little number on them, just like the Famous Five books did eons ago when I was young

There's always such a debate about whether to number or not, often naughty shops just stock 1&2 of a series, so not numbering tends to get them to take more. Here's the list:
