Monthly/weekly comic or mago for 7yr old girls...like Jackie or Bunty. Does such a thing exist anymore?

I'd like a subscription for DD to a nice magazine intended for her age but without too much shiny pink glitzy crap all over the front like the magazines you see in the shops.

I want something a bit interesting and wholesome with stories and puzzles and things for her to do and make in it.

Anyone know if one exists? Can you recommend one?

My dd is 7, she's very keen on animals, the best mags that we have found which actually have some content are Animal Action which is an RSPCA magazine and National Geographic Kids.

They don't have so much in the way of things to do and make though - I do remember there was a thread along these lines a while back which mentioned a few things including NG kids
