probably like but i think shite, they are full of silly made up words which the kids struggle over. I would say better suited to an older child who is confident in reading
Horrid Henry probably better for your boys

Thanks,I suspected as much, won't be ordering the collection of 10 from Redhouse then.

Many thanks you may well have saved me from hours of torture

Horrid Henry is terrible - poorly written, dreadful storylines and (hush) appalling values: rude, ill-mannered, greedy, lazy child triumphs (admittedly over other equally undesirable characters).

They are trying to be a modern Just William, without the charm, literary value or moral position.

OOOOOOH i have the origional just william colection from the 50's. Love them dearly

Katisha · 21/05/2009 21:42

Well my 7 year old had them all at 6 and still reads them. And so does the 9 yr old. They are full of farting and so forth and so of course small boys love them.

Agree that Horrid Henry is charmless.

Love Captain Underpants. Its todally American, but I agree it knocks that loathesome Horrid Henry into a cocked hat
