National Geographic Kids - anyone ever read it?

Hi - sorry not exactly a book, but a monthly mag. Thinking of getting National Geographic Kids subscription as a gift but I have never seen a copy. Anyone know if it is actually any good? The boy is 9 and wild about wildlife so I figure it should appeal to him but would like some feedback before ordering it.

Thanks!

My DS who is 6 (Y1, but is reading at Y3/4 level) has this magazine as a subscription. He really enjoys it and it covers a wide range of subjects. It is educational but entertaining at the same time. I think it would be a good choice for the boy you describe.

I think it's great, but I use my Tesco Clubcard points to pay the subscription. You can do this for a gift too, so it's delivered in his name.

DS loves it and DD has started to read it too.

We don't subscribe but buy it occassionally and it is very good. You can buy it in most newsagents so why don't you buy one issue to see what he thinks before forking out for subscription.

Ah thanks all - haven't seen it in a newsagent but will have a look.

lulu - it's great - he'll love it!

A great idea for a present...much better than landfill plastic!
