Blinking Fox in Socks is the worst. Dh refuses to read them and I find I have jaw ache at the end. The sooner the Dr Seuss phase is over the better imo

don't get jaw ache but they get right on my norks. I loved hop on pop when I was a kid so we bought some for the dds and I hate them now with a passion. 60s nonsense.

My dcs love wacky wednesday and if we have had a break from reading it for a while I don't mind but after reading it daily for a while my heart does sink.

AliceTheCamelHasGotTheHump · 17/02/2009 11:35

Fox in socks counts as my exercise for the day.

Oovavu · 17/02/2009 11:37

if I read fox in sox as a mouth exercise every day I'd end up with lips like angelina jolie but unfortunately a lantern jaw like nick nolte to go with it

nickytwotimes · 17/02/2009 11:37

Oh, yes, serious tongue fatigue.

Love them though.

MrsBadger · 17/02/2009 11:46

you have to go v-e-r-y slowly

lots of stopping to point at the pictures (look, can you see the chick? what colour block has it got?)

mrsturnip · 17/02/2009 15:07

there's a wocket in my pocket is fine. The cat in the hat comes back is too much!

ProfessorCalculus · 17/02/2009 15:09

I love Dr Seuss books but I do get tired of reading Green Eggs and Ham. Never get tired of The Lorax though.

ProfessorCalculus · 17/02/2009 15:10

I refuse to read Fox in Sox.

Kathyis6incheshigh · 17/02/2009 15:18

You're kidding - I love Fox In Socks - I have to go as fast as I can and see how far I can get without making a mistake.

Pity my dcs don't like it!

deaconblue · 17/02/2009 19:02

green eggs and ham is the only one I can stand as it doesn't seem to tire the tongue too much. Oh and the Grinch but he doesn't like that one very much

There's a part in Did I Ever Tell You How Lucky You Are about a bee watcher. And then someone has to watch the bee watcher and they live in Hawtch, or something. That one is a nightmare.

lisalisa · 17/02/2009 21:00

Ooh tidey - i just love that - and painting flagpoles in grooze - I just find his books so funny!

Redazzy · 17/02/2009 21:55

Dr Seuss books are my absolute favourite to read aloud. I love being able to read them as fast as I can and find the rhyming tongue twister form of them incredible pleasing. I'm especialy fond of The Cat in the Hat and Fox in Sox. I'm with Kathy and always give myself a pat on the back if I get through a story without a mistake.

lizziemun · 17/02/2009 22:21

DD1 loves Fox in Socks. Unfortunley i cannot remember where i put her book .
