this is nice - esp for boys - emotional rather than factual

Big Brother, Little Brother is quite nice, if you have boys. It is a bit babyish, so might not be suitable if your existing child is much older than 3 years.

I like it because the boys in the pictures look a bit like my two.

I love "Annie-Rose is my little sister" by Shirley Hughes

It isn't about new arrival but is a lovely book about sib relationships, the good and bad bits from an older sibs viewpoint.I love the illustrations, too

We have Topsy and Tim meet the new baby.

It seems very old fashioned (the little boy is called Tony and the mum is wearing lovely maternity dungarees ).

However, it does explain every aspect of the baby's arrival very well and DS and I can talk about the things we have done too - getting out his old baby clothes, cot etc.

It also has an illustration of breastfeeding which is reassuring.

aah, we love Alfie and Annie Rose books too and DS has grown increasingly fond of her (couldn't give a toss about Alfie!)
