Are these any different/any better than the dreadful Daisy Meadows Rainbow fairy books?
DD loves the rainbow faries but if I have to read any more I can't be answerable for the consequences. She adores fairies so I was wondering if these would be better (though not that optomisitc as the summaries on Amazon sound suspiciously similar!)

We read one of these and I thought it was very good. It wasn't twee at all. My DSs who were 5 and 7 at the time both enjoyed it and they are very anti-girly stuff IYKWIM.

Hmmmmm, some of them deal with 'issues' one has a dying granny and one has a divorce. The writing is better than sodding rainbow fairies but I wish I'd skimmed them first before getting hit with death & divorce!
